The Data Analyst III role supports enterprise data initiatives by focusing on data understanding, mapping, and metadata management. This position collaborates with business stakeholders, data engineers, and architects to document data flows, define data mappings, and curate high-quality metadata. The core data platform is Snowflake.

Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain source-to-target mappings, data flow diagrams, and transformation logic documentation.
- Analyze source systems and tables to document data lineage, relationships, and dependencies.
- Partner with data engineers and architects to validate mappings and ensure alignment with data models.
- Publish and maintain data assets, schemas, tables, columns, and glossary terms.
- Document business definitions, data ownership, freshness, and usage guidance.
- Curate and maintain trusted data catalogs to support governance and self-service data discovery.
- Ensure metadata accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Use SQL to analyze datasets for data understanding, completeness, and quality.
- Validate data transformations and downstream consumption against documented mappings.
- Support impact analysis by identifying affected data assets using lineage and metadata.
- Serve as a bridge between business, engineering, and governance teams for data understanding.
- Support governance, observability, and audit readiness through strong documentation and metadata practices.
- Contribute to standards and best practices for data documentation and metadata management.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong SQL skills with hands-on experience querying.
- Experience creating data mapping documents, lineage, and technical data documentation.
- Familiarity with metadata management and data catalog concepts.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Hands-on experience with metadata management tools.
- Experience working with ELT pipelines and data warehouses.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or observability practices.
- Exposure to AWS-based data ecosystems.
- Experience supporting enterprise or ERP-driven data platforms.
