The Data Analytical Specialist role involves working closely with client groups to assess data analytics and reporting capabilities, gather requirements, and identify opportunities for improvement. This role focuses on executing analytics initiatives, including reporting, data set delivery, and developing Business Intelligence solutions. The specialist will also support infrastructure sustainment activities.

Responsibilities:
- Assess current data analytics and reporting capabilities and gather future-state requirements.
- Facilitate decision-making and manage client expectations.
- Execute analytics initiatives, including end-to-end reporting and data set delivery.
- Participate in documentation, development, testing, and end-user training.
- Collaborate with functional area experts, Data Architects, ETL Developers, and stakeholders.
- Design methods to capture, structure, transform, and process data.
- Build data models that provide accurate, easy-to-understand, and unbiased information.
- Communicate complex quantitative analysis with visuals and summaries.
- Provide interpretation, advice, and expertise to client groups and stakeholders.
- Support release and infrastructure solutions support sustainment activities.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Experience building visualizations in Microsoft PowerBI.
- Superior knowledge of MS analytical products, particularly Excel and data validation on Excel forms.
- Experience cleaning, transforming, and joining data.
- Experience with SQL databases.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience creating and applying data standards.
- Experience with dimensional data models.
- Statistical modeling using R and experience integrating R with Microsoft Power BI.
- Experience building visualizations in R Shiny, SAS, Python, Esri/ArcGIS, Microsoft PowerBI, and PowerViewer, Cognos.
- Experience developing business intelligence and various analytics resources.
- Experience understanding a data model.
- Experience creating interactive visuals.
- Experience in developing documentation on data standardization and requirements.
- Demonstrated consulting and relationship management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous public sector experience.
