Job Description

As a Fishing and Sporting Goods Retail Associate at Mountain Hardware and Sports, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for the outdoors while helping customers find the right gear for their adventures. Whether you’re knowledgeable about fishing, camping, and outdoor sports, or eager to learn, this role involves assisting customers on the sales floor, processing transactions, merchandising, learning across departments and more. If you have experience in retail, or an interest in fishing, camping and outdoor products, this position could be a great fit.

Work location: on-site (Donner Pass location)

Schedule: full-time (40hrs/week)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers and assist with Fishing and Sporting Good products and recommendations

• Provide product knowledge, promote, and sell home décor items, recommending complementary products

• Set up, maintain, and organize attractive product displays that align with promotions and seasonal trends

• Process transactions accurately, handle special order requests, and assist with receiving and stocking merchandise

• Assist in loading/unloading merchandise and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe department

• Stay updated on industry trends in fishing and sporting goods

Skills and Qualifications

• Must be able to work in the United States

• Must be at least 18 years or older

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English

• Must have ability to lift up to 56lbs

• Must have ability to use a ladder

• Ability to use provided computer, programs, and technology-based equipment when needed

• Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced, confined environment while maintaining focus and efficiency

• Ability to multi-task

Experience

• Customer service: 1+ year (preferred)

• Fishing and Sporting Goods related experience: 1+ year (preferred)
