Job Description
Cellure is a luxury skin longevity brand launching its first product — a premium LED red light therapy face mask positioned at the intersection of skincare technology and luxury object design. We are seeking an experienced industrial designer to take an existing detailed design brief through to production-ready CAD files and photorealistic renderings.
About the product
The Cellure mask is a full-face LED therapy device (630nm red + 830nm near-infrared wavelengths) designed to function as a luxury artifact — an object a woman chooses to display on her nightstand, not hide in a drawer. The product will retail at $599 USD and compete in the premium home beauty device category alongside brands such as Omnilux and CurrentBody, while drawing design inspiration from luxury goods rather than consumer electronics.
The design direction is fully developed and documented in a detailed brief. AI-generated concept renders exist to communicate directional intent. Your job is to resolve these into a single definitive, manufacturable design.
What we have already
— A complete industrial design brief (12 sections plus visual addendum, ~3,500 words)
— AI concept renders showing directional intent across four views: front-quarter, side profile, interior detail, in-situ scene
— Defined material specifications: PVD satin gold exterior, ivory medical-grade silicone interior, weighted metal display stand
— Defined technology constraints: LED array, wireless charging, single-touch interface, 10-minute auto shutoff
— Brand identity direction: quiet luxury, serif wordmark, no logo on outer face
What we need from you
Phase 1 — Concept refinement (Week 1)
Resolve the AI concept renders into a single coherent silhouette. The brief specifies key corrections: the outer form must read as face-derived (not abstract), four views must be consistent from one CAD geometry, a subtle orbital line detail must be incorporated as the product's visual signature, and the stand stem requires structural resolution.
Phase 2 — CAD development (Week 2-3)
Produce SolidWorks or Rhino files suitable for factory tooling quotation. Files must include: outer shell, inner silicone insert, stand assembly, and charging interface detail.
Phase 3 — Renderings (Week 3–4)
Produce Keyshot or equivalent photorealistic renders across four views minimum: front-quarter on marble surface, side profile, interior face-up detail, and in-situ nightstand scene. These renderings will be used on the pre-launch landing page and in investor materials before physical samples exist.
Design direction in brief
The product lives aesthetically between jewelry and instrument. Reference objects: Jaume Plensa face sculptures (silhouette), Cartier Panthère compact (gold surface and logo standard), Georg Jensen Cobra candleholder (stand geometry), Diptyque candle (object presence on a surface), Aesop apothecary bottle (restraint as luxury signal). The outer face carries no visible branding. The wordmark appears only on the stand base and inner bridge, engraved in a refined serif, shallow enough to require deliberate looking.
Ideal candidate
Your portfolio shows luxury goods, cosmetics, personal care devices, or premium consumer electronics.
You understand the difference between a product that photographs well and a product that feels right in the hand. You have worked with PVD-coated surfaces and understand the constraints of injection-molded ABS or PC substrates.
Timeline
Max 4 weeks from brief handoff to delivery of CAD files and final renderings. DEADLINE Must keep.
Budget
Please state your fee in your application. We are a founder-funded pre-launch brand and will be transparent about budget during the interview stage.
