We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Freelance Swimwear Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing swimwear and a strong background in working with licensed brands. This role requires proficiency in sketching, using Illustrator, and building comprehensive tech packs, with an emphasis on understanding and implementing the unique requirements and brand DNA of licensed partnerships. The Swimwear Designer will play a vital role in shaping our collections and ensuring they align with both creative vision and production standards.

Responsibilities:

• Report to the Director of Design on all deliverables.
• Design and sketch new swimwear collections and styles that align with current fashion trends and cater to the specific needs and standards of licensed brands.
• Develop concepts and designs that reflect the unique identity and target audience of each licensed brand.
• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications using Illustrator to ensure accuracy in production.
• Build thorough tech packs for each design, including measurements, materials, construction details, and licensing-specific guidelines.
• Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure designs are production-ready and meet all brand and licensing compliance standards.
• Stay informed on the latest fashion trends and integrate them into designs while balancing the aesthetic requirements of licensed partners.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product development, technical design, and marketing, to ensure seamless execution.
• Manage multiple design projects and deadlines simultaneously, maintaining consistency and quality across collections.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Swimwear Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing work with licensed brands
• Exceptional sketching skills and advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce precise technical drawings and specifications.
• Demonstrated experience building tech packs for swimwear production, including detailed construction and materials information.
• Comprehensive understanding of textiles, garment construction, and the production process, particularly in swimwear.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively manage relationships with internal teams and licensed brand partners.
• Familiarity with licensing standards, compliance, and approval processes is a plus.
• A creative, trend-focused mindset with a deep understanding of customer preferences and market demands.

Compensation/Benefits:

• The approximate hourly rate range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00. The offered hourly rate for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set and years of experience.
