About the Role
We are seeking a Med-Surg RN for a 13-week day shift contract at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA. This is a great opportunity for a nurse with Med-Surg experience who is comfortable in a patient-centered acute care setting and able to support safe, effective care across the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on standards of care, protocols, and established policies
• Complete timely and accurate documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses
• Provide patient and family education based on identified needs
• Support medication administration and IV therapy in accordance with physician orders
• Recognize abnormal lab and diagnostic results and notify physicians appropriately
• Assess and manage patient pain and response to interventions
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care planning
• Support safe use of traction, orthopedic devices, feeding pumps, chest tubes, drains, and related equipment
• Prioritize patient care and respond appropriately in urgent or life-threatening situations

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active Massachusetts RN license
• BLS required
• ACLS upon hire or active BLS with AHA ACLS obtained within 60 days of hire
• 1 year Med-Surg experience preferred
• Previous telemetry experience preferred
• MOAB class required within 60 days of hire
