The Oil and Gas Section has an opening for an enthusiastic, intellectually curious, self-directed individual to work with a team tasked with implementation of the "Oil and Gas Methane" regulation. The successful candidate's duties may include supporting ongoing and future amendments to the regulation; conducting investigations of emission control technologies and process modifications to reduce emissions through the development of control measures or regulations; developing guidance documents and equipment reporting programs; and working with local air districts and CARB's Enforcement Division to help enforce the regulation. Additional duties may include planning and organizing technical research studies to develop technical data to support emissions analyses on various projects, and developing databases, conducting data collection surveys, developing emission inventories, and comparing different inventory methodologies. The successful candidate's duties may also include investigating and evaluating the technical feasibility, cost-effectiveness, environmental impacts, and socio-economic impacts of control strategies for the oil and gas sector.
