Hays Electrical Services approaches each project with a cooperative mindset, working with business owners, contractors, and subcontractors towards the common goal – successful project delivery. We are seeking a detail‑oriented Power BI Report Developer focused on building high‑quality dashboards and reports using curated datasets provided by the data engineering team. This role is centered on report development, visualization design, and translating business requirements into clear, actionable insights. The ideal candidate has strong Power BI experience in a business environment, solid DAX fundamentals, and the ability to create clean, effective reporting that supports data‑driven decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities - Design and develop Power BI dashboards and paginated reports using existing datasets provided by data engineers.
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into intuitive visualizations.
- Create and maintain basic to intermediate data models (relationships, simple measures, KPIs) within Power BI when needed.
- Use Power Query for light data shaping and transformations within the Power BI environment.
- Build DAX calculations focused on reporting logic and KPIs (not enterprise‑scale modeling).
- Ensure report accuracy, consistency, and usability across all published BI assets.
- Work with teams across finance, operations, and leadership to enhance reporting content and design.
- Maintain and update existing dashboards based on feedback and evolving business needs.
Required Qualifications - 2–4 years of hands‑on experience building Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
- Solid understanding of DAX fundamentals for measures and calculated columns.
- Experience with Power Query for data shaping.
- Familiarity with querying data from SQL relational databases.
- Ability to interpret business needs and convert them into clear, actionable reports.
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Exposure to ETL concepts, data warehousing, or cloud BI environments (e.g., Azure).
- Microsoft Power BI certification (Power BI Data Analyst Associate or similar).
- Experience building pixel‑perfect paginated reports
