Job Summary:
Responsible for administering, maintaining and coordinating all Company safety policies and programs including safety training and inspections for onsite projects. Maintains compliance of all Company safety policies and procedures, as well as Federal and State Standards. Develops and maintains safety initiatives to prevent occupational accidents, injuries and illnesses.
Essential Duties Include but are not limited to:
• Monitors and/or anticipates hazardous and unsafe conditions and processes and takes corrective action to minimize risk.
• Implements the Safety and Health Plan and Employee Safety Handbook policies and updates documents as needed in collaboration with the human resources coordinator.
• Updates Safety Data Sheets (SDS) as needed and keeps information available to production employees.
• Coordinates FIT testing and doctor appointments for production employees in the use of respirators.
• Understands and complies with OSHA standards and state and federal laws and regulations regarding safety and health.
• Performs documented jobsite safety audits to determine compliance with Company and Government Standards.
• Schedules and coordinates live training events on safety topics for managers and production employees.
• Ensures certifications are renewed and continuing education is completed in a timely manner; avoiding lapse in certification for managers and production employees.
• Understands restoration and remediation work and associated safety processes and equipment required to complete a project.
• Completes personal safety training to learn new knowledge and skills in the safety field.
• Escalates unresolved issues/problems to management for resolution.
• Meets and exceeds expectations and completes projects on time.
Requirements Include but are not limited to:
• High School degree or equivalent.
• Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and able to lead others.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to travel to satellite locations in Company provided vehicle.
• Safety and health program management experience required.
• Experience in water and fire restoration and mold remediation is a plus.
• OSHA safety training programs are a plus, OSHA 30 required within 3 months of employment.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Dependable and flexible to meet scheduling needs.
• Commitment to personal and professional development.
