• Lead and supervise second-shift sanitation operations from start to completion, ensuring the facility is clean, safe, compliant, and fully prepared for first-shift production
• Support limited second-shift production activities, primarily cooking operations, as needed
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, sanitation, and quality standards, including SQF, USDA, FDA, GMPs, SSOPs, and SOPs
• Assign work, inspect results, and hold team members accountable for safety, quality, and performance expectations
• Provide hands-on training, coaching, and ongoing development for second-shift employees to build capability, consistency, and accountability
• Lead by example on the floor—working alongside team members when needed to demonstrate proper procedures and reinforce standards
• Ensure proper chemical handling, PPE usage, and adherence to all safety requirements
• Coordinate with Maintenance on second-shift preventative maintenance, equipment issues, and repair needs
• Complete all required sanitation, production, and quality documentation accurately and on time
• Manage timekeeping and support staffing needs, including scheduling and coordination of temporary labor
• Communicate effectively with Quality, Maintenance, and first-shift leadership to ensure smooth shift handoffs and operational continuity
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment at all times
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing, sanitation, or production environments
• Proven experience coordinating sanitation processes with accountability for quality, compliance, and production readiness
• Strong working knowledge of food safety and quality standards, including SQF, USDA, FDA, GMPs, SSOPs, and SOPs
• Comfortable overseeing both sanitation operations and limited production activities (not a sanitation-only role)
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and develop hourly teams, providing hands-on guidance and reinforcing expectations on the floor
• Leadership style that is calm, consistent, and solutions-focused, with a willingness to lead by example
• Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, and first-shift leadership
• Hands-on experience supervising hourly employees, inspecting work, and addressing performance or safety issues in real time
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and timekeeping or payroll systems
• Reliable and flexible for second-shift operations where end times may vary based on production and sanitation needs
