At TX-STAR Speech Language Services, we partner with school districts across Texas to support students with speech and language needs. We are currently hiring Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs) for school-based opportunities in the Houston area.
This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about supporting student communication development while working under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
What You’ll Do
As an SLPA in a school setting, you will support the delivery of speech and language services to students with a variety of communication needs.
Key responsibilities include:
Implement speech and language therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP
Support students in achieving IEP goals through structured interventions
Provide direct and/or group therapy services to students
Assist with documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
Prepare therapy materials and maintain organized records
Collaborate with teachers, staff, and multidisciplinary teams
Support students with a range of communication needs (articulation, language, fluency, etc.)
Follow district guidelines and compliance standards
What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders or related field
Active Texas licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant
Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed SLP
Strong communication and organizational skills
Valid Texas driver’s license (if travel between campuses is required)
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Work Environment & Flexibility
School-based, on-site positions in the Houston area
Caseloads typically range from Pre-K through High School
