Job Description

Arlington Heights Veterinary Hospital, located in Bloomington, IN is a veterinary hospital that puts your animals’ needs first and foremost. As a Doctor’s Assistant, you will be working closely with the veterinarian during not only routine physical exams but also be able to experience the thrill and excitement during a C-section that delivers 6 puppies or assisting in a CCL surgery and be able to watch the animal experience a better life after you assisted the doctor in repairing the knee. The adventures are never-ending!

You will be responsible for:
  • Connection: Be able to demonstrate and educate clients on simple procedures and explain the importance of annual exams, heartworm flea/tick preventatives and annual blood work and vaccinations. 
  • Insight: Bring your knowledge and education to Arlington to improve function and efficiency of our teams.
  • Culture: Communicate happily with clients and team members to be a part of a good work culture. Also communicate blood work results with owners and perform phone follow-ups and rechecks.
  • Performance: Perform blood smears, run in house blood work and prepare send out samples. Also place IV catheters and start fluids, prep patients for surgery and position patients for radiographs.

  • Qualifications: We prefer experienced doctor’s assistants but will review on a case to case basis.
