Position Summary

The Assistant Registrar for Degree Conferral and Graduation Operations manages and optimizes the full degree-conferral lifecycle, including graduation application processing, degree clearance, diploma production and commencement coordination in conjunction with the Office of Conference Services. The role ensures efficient workflows, high data integrity, and proactive monitoring of system updates and upgrades that impact conferral activities.


The position collaborates with academic departments, IT partners, and Registrar leadership to maintain accurate academic records, ensure timely and compliant reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse, and streamline communication so that only eligible students receive graduation-related information.

The salary for this position is $54,000

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in higher education or a related setting.
  • Strong understanding of student information systems and related workflows, including Banner and document management platforms.
  • Ability to evaluate the impact of system updates and upgrades on graduation and degree-conferral processes.
  • Analytical skills to diagnose data discrepancies and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities within deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to build constructive relationships across the university.
  • Commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ellucian Banner and Banner Document Management.
  • Experience with degree audit, conferral, and National Student Clearinghouse reporting.
  • Experience coordinating large events such as commencement or convocation.
