Job Description

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and medication safety. In this vital role, you'll assist in preparing customized medications through compounding processes, ensuring precision and adherence to strict aseptic techniques. Your dedication will support healthcare providers in delivering personalized treatments, especially within LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, and hospital settings. This position offers an engaging environment where your skills in medication preparation, patient service, and medical terminology will be valued and expanded. Duties: Prepare compounded medications accurately following prescriptions, ensuring all formulations meet safety and quality standards. Assist pharmacists with medication dispensing, labeling, and documentation to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Maintain a sterile environment by applying aseptic techniques during IV infusion preparation and other sterile compounding procedures. Support patient intake processes by verifying prescriptions, reviewing medical records, and providing clear communication about medication instructions. Manage inventory of pharmaceutical supplies, ensuring proper storage and timely reordering of ingredients and materials. Ensure adherence to hospital protocols for acute care and critical care medication preparation, including medication administration support when needed. Document all compounding activities meticulously, including batch records and quality control checks, to uphold compliance standards. Requirements: Proven experience as a pharmacy technician with a focus on compounding or LTC pharmacy environments. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration procedures, and aseptic techniques. Critical care experience that demonstrates ability to handle complex medication preparations confidently. Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care and intake processes.
